Biography

Julie Citro of Wilmington was crowned Miss Delaware USA 2010 on Sunday November 29, 2009 at the Sheraton Dover Hotel. Julie is a senior majoring in Elementary Education at Wilmington University. She is the daughter of retired State Police Captain David J. Citro, local singer-songwriter Lori Citro, and Radiation Therapist Mary Agnes Citro.

In addition to fulfilling her dream of winning the title of Miss Delaware USA, Julie won the Humanitarian Award for contributing 145 coats to be donated to the Big Brother/Big Sister of Delaware organization. She also donated her first car to Purple Heart which helps veterans and their families, along with donating over 3 feet of hair to Locks of Love. She volunteers at A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital in her spare time and works at the Washington Street Ale House.

Julie is very excited and feels honored to represent Delaware in the opportunity of a lifetime. She hopes to make her state proud by being the first Miss Delaware USA to place top fifteen at Miss USA! The Miss USA pageant will take place on Sunday, April 18, 2010 LIVE from the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada!

Julie's favorite vacation spot is at the Atlantis resort in Nassau , Bahamas; she loves racing down the aquarium surrounded water slides. She looks forward to visiting the Bahamas again this year to support her sister titleholder, Ashley DiLiberto at the 2010 Miss Teen USA pageant in the summer of 2010. When she's not cruising down water slides in the Bahamas, she spends her free time with her cat she nicknamed "Babycat", supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers during football season, and having fun and laughing with her friends and family who always manage to keep her grounded.

As she continues on this journey of a lifetime she hopes to grow as a person, and looks forward to every opportunity she has meeting new people. Julie is extremely grateful to be the 2010 representative for the State of Delaware and will never take a single moment for granted.
