Miss Florida USA 2011 Crowned
Lissette Garcia, 24, Aims To Be Cardiologist
ORLANDO, Fla. --
Lissette Garcia, 24, was chosen from among a record 61 contestants Saturday to be Miss Florida USA 2011. She is a sleep study technician who plans to be a cardiologist.
Garcia was crowned after a week of Miss Florida USA activities. Officials for the 60th annual pageant took thousands of applications and narrowed them down to a select few through regional pageants.
Garcia will represent Florida in the Miss USA Pageant seen on NBC in the winter/spring of 2011.

New Miss Florida Crowned
DAVIE, Fla. -- Lissette Garcia of Miami is the new Miss Florida USA 2011. She was crowned Saturday night.
She'll go on to the Miss USA Pageant that takes place next year.
More than 50 contestants strutted their stuff trying to win the title. Sheri Riley of Jacksonville was also there. She made it to the finals.
The pageant draws from over 20,000 inititial applicants and narrows them down to about 60 contestants through regional pageants statewide.
