THE Wales squad are getting singing lessons from a glamorous Miss World contender ahead of the game with England.
Courtenay Hamilton, the current Miss Wales, is singing Land Of My Fathers before the European Championship qualifier at the Millennium Stadium and is also getting the players tuned up for the big day.
Hamilton, 20, who represented Wales at the Miss World pageant in China last year, is classically trained and will sing the emotional Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau in front of a 72,500 audience.
She said: “Being asked to sing before the game came out of the blue, though they asked me to sing at a previous match when I was in China. I love singing and that was the main reason I entered Miss Wales. I’d never done any modelling.
“I’d ideally like to make it as a singer. I’m trying a crossover genre, which is contemporary singing but using a classical arrangement.”
Millwall’s Steve Morison, one of the English-born players in the squad, said: “We are all learning the anthem. It’s like the X Factor. We all had to get up and sing it on Sunday night.

If singing the Welsh national anthem gives us an extra one per cent, then that can only be a good thing

“Our big aim this week is to get the fans back behind us and getting the belief back into the squad.
